A congregation was established in Chokoloskee in 1913 with the first permanent pastor arriving in 1928. The original building was destroyed
by a hurricane and replaced with another wooden structure until the present concrete building was completed in 1961. Recently, a fourth
church has been completed on the property that sits adjacent to the 1961 building.
