The Tamiami Trail Arch, built during the construction of the Tamiami Trail, signified the dividing line between Collier County and Dade County (now Miami-Dade) on US 41 until 1958 when it was demolished to widen the highway. Remnants remain along the north side of the Tamiami Trail, and efforts are being made to retrieve the lost stones.
