The Everglades Lions Club was chartered in 1952. There were 42 charter members, and the event was celebrated with a dinner at the Rod and Gun Club in Everglades City. Fundraisers
are held throughout the year, benefiting various individuals and organizations. The Lions Club also purchased playground equipment and landscaped McLeod, the local community park.
